This statement has made me understand a dream I had about 4 months ago, I’ll keep it brief.

The question is: what do we know about them? They obviously know about us. Surely, we should require all extraterrestrial life to leave our solar system until we have had a chance to study them and determine, without a doubt, that they are not here to use us and our world for there own purposes. We are a planet that is experiencing an unprecedented population growth and a shortage of resources. Accepting any help with these issues from outside this world would make us dependent on an alien species. We need to pull up our boot straps, stop messing around, and start to REALLY solve our global issues. Once we have proven to ourselves that we possess at least some form of wisdom, then we may be ready to greet the larger community outside the earth.
